Booking terms and conditions
- At the time of booking, a non-returnable £400.00 deposit payment is required, this will secure your required dates.
- The remaining balance is due one month prior to the hire date.
- In the unfortunate event of cancellation after this time, then a 25% refund will be made.
- With the final balance, we require a £500.00 refundable security deposit. Please bear in mind that this is a private house and any additional cleaning due to illness/spillages will be charged.
- We entrust Shapwick House to you in good decorative order and ask that it be returned to us in a similar state. If furniture is moved – we ask that it be returned to it’s original place. We also ask, not to leave any bottles, cans or cardboard boxes – all of these must be placed in the wheelie bin provided. Please remember, a £1.00 charge will be made, per item for bottles/cans/boxes etc left for our disposal. All other waste rubbish must also be placed in the wheelie bin provided.
- To consideration of our neighbours, we ask that any music must be turned down an acceptable level at midnight.
- This is a strictly non smoking environment and charges will be made if guests breach this condition. Due to the potential fire risk, no candles are allowed.
- No fireworks/fires unless organised by a qualified display team who have their own comprehensive insurance. Any display, must be a silent display only, due to close proximity of private dwellings and livestock.
- Due to the age and fragility of the building, we are unable to allow the use of a BBQ.
- Due to the fire risk and risk to livestock it is not permitted to set off Chinese paper lanterns, floating lanterns or sky lanterns.
- We are unable to allow any outside catering company/staff onto the premises.
- Shapwick House is rented on a maximum sleeping capacity for twenty two guests.
- Regrettably, no dogs or other pets are permitted on site.
- We are unable to accept Stag/ Hen party bookings.
- The Management cannot accept responsibility for the loss or damage to guest’s property.
- A responsible person must be nominated to ensure the house is cared for correctly.
- A member of staff is on the premises each evening to comply with our Insurance Policy and as a matter of safety to staying guests.
